Progress on Inuik

It's July 8, 2026 and I'm sitting in a Timmy's on Balmoral street, close to home in Thunder Bay, Northwestern Ontario. I'm working on Inuiq, which I must say, is going incredibly well. Ideas are so good I'm having to control the tears. A little embarrassing when Timmy's or Starbucks is full of people. I opted to write Inuik as a script with a few storyboards. (60 detailed pics so far) and take this idea to Hollywood (or similar place of venture) for the simple reason that the story is too visual and deep. It would work as a nice children's picture book, which I plan to do, but for kids it has to be... restrained dramatically. The effort wouldn't capture the real breadth and depth of the allegory or have the emotional impact. If I get this teary-eyed when I replay the story and scenes in my head, it'll have an even more dramatic effect on a movie audience. A graphic novel would work, but that would take me years to produce, and without funding – advance money – I'd need a decade. You see, one of the problems is the main character has no one to talk with, and it's in the nature and culture of the Inuit not to say much, especially when alone. This makes the story a challenge and primarily a visual production. Great for a visual artist, and as a film. The story is told 90 percent with imagery. (Great for international distribution, by the way!) With so little dialogue for the script the only way I can do Inuik real honour, and get it out of my head, and out to the public is to work with a team, a major film company who can see the real value of the story. Wish me luck.
